Rebecca Tjahja Harvey started We Are AAPI in 2020, during COVID, when anti-Asian hate was on the rise and it felt more important than ever to build solidarity and community. Alongside an incredible group of passionate AAPI friends, she founded the organization with the belief that the ballot box is one of the most powerful ways to drive change and amplify AAPI voices.

The daughter of two Indonesian immigrants, Rebecca is an American military spouse who has worked on political campaigns and is now pursuing her MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
