Asian Womxn to the Polls!

September 28, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

RSVP for ASIAN WOMXN TO THE POLLS, a *free* community event in collaboration with @weareaapi, featuring special guest Swati Mylavarapu.

Are you tired of 2020, but know America has to change?
Are you the first or only in your family to vote? To be a poll worker? To work on a campaign?
Do you have emotional arguments with Asian family members about their political values?
Do you feel overwhelmed by absentee ballot timelines, issues to vote for, candidates in your local and national election?
Do you secretly dream of running for office, but don’t know where to start?

If you answered “YES” to any of the above… we’re organizing ASIAN WOMXN TO THE POLLS on 9/28 at 5 PM on Zoom for YOU. Free to attend!!

Here’s what you can expect:
SMALL GROUP CONVERSATION: You’ll join a small group of 4 and community members who also want to talk about the election, political values, trying to get your parents to vote…
STORYTELLING BY AND FOR ASIAN WOMXN: You’ll hear from Asian womxn active in the political arena — Swati Mylavarapu, who has dedicated her life to empowering rising leaders for good, and the founders of We Are AAPI, a group of womxn who have created an organization dedicated to activating a new generation of civically engaged AAPIs.
REFLECT ON YOUR AUTHENTIC PATH TO BEING ENGAGED: “Civic engagement” means something different to each person. We’ll be sharing different pathways for impact, so you can choose what fits your values.

THIS YEAR, THE ASIAN WOMXN VOTE MATTERS. It matters before and after Election Day. The number one thing we can do as a community is talk to each other, and right now 60% of Asian Americans haven’t been contacted by campaigns or community organizations AT ALL. Join us to make a change on Sept 28!!
